Our team proudly joined Figen Murray OBE, along with many others in the security industry, to support her as she walked the final miles of an epic Manchester to Downing Street. This journey served as a poignant reminder to Government of their commitment to implementing Martyn’s Law.
Martyn's Law is a bill proposed and currently undergoing consultation. If passed it will impose requirements in relation to certain premises and events to increase their preparedness for and protection from, a terrorist attack by requiring them to take proportionate steps, depending on the size and nature of the activities that take place at the premises.
It is seven years since Figen’s son was tragically killed in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack. Since then, she has been a driving and inspirational force behind the introduction of this new legislation to ensure such a tragedy does not happen again.
At our business breakfast last year explored this crucial subject. As Martyn’s Law moves closer to becoming a reality, we stand ready to help our clients understand and implement the legislation when it comes into force.
